Covid-19: important Update as of April 23rd, 2020

Dear 2020 Vienna Meeting Attendees  and Industry Partners:

COVID-19 continues to turn our world upside down, it is evident that given circumstances continue to place the majority of our colleagues on the frontline of this pandemic.  As you prioritize patient safety an care, we continue to prioritize the safety of our global members and Industry partners.  Now that we have official updates from the City of Vienna:

The Austrian Federal Government has imposed restrictions on freedom of movement: social and public life are reduced to the bare minimum. The Austrian government called on the population to “self-isolate”, meaning to only “have social contacts with the people you live with”.

All events are suspended until the end of June 2020. From 1 July small events will be permitted after examination. Details will be presented by the government in mid-May. Large events such as city festivals or music festivals remain prohibited until 31 August. Gatherings are limited to no more than 5 people.

Given these further updated restrictions, the EUPSA-IPEG-ESPES 2020 Vienna Congress is officially now cancelled.

Refunds of registration fees will be processed after business issues with the Vienna convention center and hotels are resolved.

Please stay safe and healthy and we look forward to reconnecting with our colleagues and industry partners throughout the year and in preparation for EUPSA 2021 Congress – Athens (Greece)

Dear Members,

For the first time ever, the European Paediatric Surgeons’ Association (EUPSA) will meet with the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group (IPEG) and the European Society of Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons (ESPES) at the Austria Center Vienna on June 10-13, 2020.

This unique congress is anticipated to draw an attendance of over 1,200 surgeons, pediatric specialists, urologists, orthopedics, oncologists, residents, trainees, and allied health professionals in the field of pediatric surgery.

A joint meeting of three major societies certainly represents a unique opportunity for the medical industry to maximize exposure of their products, inspire new discussions at their exhibition booths, and form multiple networks.

EUPSA, IPEG, and ESPES are changing the face of surgery for children in the future and we hope you will join us.

We encourage you to be active part of this event

and hope to see you there.

With best regards,

Tomas WESTER                                Holger TILL                            Henri STEYAERT
